Industry News: GapVax Partnership and Mecalac Product Release

GapVax and Can-Ex Technologies Team Up

GapVax and Can-Ex Technologies recently entered a partnership, marking a strategic alliance between the two companies.

The agreement designates GapVax as the sole distributor of the ZIPCAM 360 within the United States and allows Can-Ex Technologies to establish itself in the expansive American market. According to the companies’ representatives, it's a win-win situation for both companies, but also importantly for clients in the sewer sector, as they will now have access to revolutionary technology.

The exclusive distribution rights of the ZIPCAM 360 present a significant advantage for both GapVax and its clientele. By adding the ZIPCAM 360 to its line of combination trucks, trailers and jetters, GapVax can now offer customers a comprehensive sewer cleaning and inspection solution. This innovative approach decreases client expenses and streamlines the time and labor involved, surpassing conventional methods.

For Can-Ex Technologies, this partnership unlocks a realm of possibilities. By aligning with a prominent figure in vacuum truck manufacturing within the United States, Can-Ex Technologies gains nationwide exposure. The ZIPCAM 360 allows sewer inspection directly from a combination truck, trailer or jetter, a unique feature that makes this collaboration particularly logical and promising. Based in Quebec, Canada, Can-Ex Technologies is a subsidiary of the engineering firm Can-Explore.

“We are excited to bring this product to our clients,” says Gary Poborsky, president and founder of GapVax. “The ZIPCAM 360 is the next big thing in sewer inspection. This cutting-edge technology is the fastest and most efficient sewer inspection tool on the market."

Both companies share common values and a similar growth trajectory. Initially, they both began modestly with service-oriented offerings before expanding their horizons and transitioning towards the creation of innovative products, thus becoming leaders in their industries.

Mecalac Introduces New Tiltrotators to the North American Market

Mecalac, manufacturer and distributor of compact construction equipment for urban environments, introduces its MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators to the North American market.

The MR50 Tiltrotator is available as an option for the 9MWR and 11MWR wheeled excavators and the 10MCR crawler-skid excavator. The MR60 Tiltrotator is available for the 15MWR wheeled excavator and 15MC crawler excavator. Both tiltrotators come equipped with the twin CONNECT coupling system for compatibility with other Mecalac work tools.

The design of Mecalac’s fully integrated tiltrotator system is the latest generation of the company’s productivity-enhancing features. The system includes a tiltrotator fitted between two CONNECT quick couplers along with a grading bucket specially designed to match the machine and system. The Mecalac MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators allow for 360-degree rotation in both directions as well as a 40-degree tilt left and right for various attachments, including hydromechanical tools such as grapples. The integration between the two quick couplers makes it possible to detach the tiltrotator when it’s not needed and immediately resume work with another attachment, such as a loader bucket.

“Placing a Mecalac tiltrotator between two CONNECT quick couplers is an innovative solution that further enhances the versatility and productivity Mecalac excavators are known for,” said Peter Bigwood, general manager for Mecalac North America. “Thanks to this new mounting, the operator can easily remove either the tool or the entire tiltrotator system to immediately resume work with a 4-in-1 or standard loader bucket.”

The Mecalac MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotator options include dedicated multi-function joysticks, various tiltrotator configurations and settings as well as “Home” — return to operator preset position — and “Bucket Shake” — or pulse — functions to ensure material spreads evenly and quickly. Tiltrotators are available with or without a grab module.

In the future, the Mecalac tiltrotators will be introduced for the 8MCR crawler skid excavator, followed by the 12MTX wheeled excavator loader.
